From the independent reviewer:
The Minister for Trade and Tourism has appointed me, Timothy Yeend, to undertake the five yearly independent review of the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program as per the Export Market Development Grants Act 1997. The review will examine how well the program is being delivered and whether it is meeting the needs of Australian small to medium sized businesses and their representative bodies to undertake export marketing and promotional activities.
Through this survey, I’m inviting you to share your views and experiences with the EMDG program.
Your insights will help me examine EMDG’s operations, effectiveness and opportunities for improvement, particularly focusing on the changes that have been made since the last review in 2020. This includes ways to improve how EMDG supports exporters, collaboration with representative bodies, and coordination across government.
This survey will ask about:
1. Demographics of you and your business or organisation
2. Experience with the EMDG program
3. Applicant experience
4. Changes to Round 4
5. Representative bodies
6. Support for exporters
7. Other feedback
Responses are confidential and results will be reported in aggregate only. The survey is a series of mostly multiple-choice, ranking or scale questions and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
The survey will close on 15 August 2025.
You can read the terms of reference for the review here.
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey. Your feedback is valued and will directly inform my findings and recommendations about EMDG to the Minister for Trade and Tourism.
